About Wendy
Wendy's exquisite art has been called wonderfully charming, intriguing, unique, and enigmatic.
Her art is best experienced in person and each piece invites the viewer to ponder, to wonder, to discover, and to reminisce. Her mixed media collages incorporate layers of fabric, paper and tulle, allowing further patterns and images to emerge the more carefully you look. You'll find wearable books rich with images and ephemera to transport you to another time and place.
In Wendy's hands, boat navigation lights and electronic scraps get a second lease of life as intriguing and unique jewellery... She uses old needlework, photos, books & stamps, furniture hardware to dinnerware. All manner of old treasures might be incorporated into new artwork, even sculpture.
Wendy completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, and studied jewellery making in Australia where she lived for over 25 years.
She conducts art classes for children and adults at Magnolia Art studio in North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada.
Currently based in lower Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, her life is in a state of flux.
